Scientific Activity
Villa Montallegro has been working for a decade in scientific
and training activities. Since 1996 it has sponsored the Società
Ligure di Chirurgia. At the end of the 90s, a series of important
scientific events on innovating topics were organised, attended
by international guests, among which “Angioplasty versus
coronary surgery”, “Supra-aortic trunk disease”, “Selective
embolisation of uterine fibromas”.
In June 2001, the Scientific technical committee was set up,
controlling the scientific and training activities organised by the
Casa di Cura, as the meeting “What’s new in ...”, held in 2002
on the occasion of 50 years facility anniversary and the day
surgery meeting in 2003, organised in co-operation with
Società Italiana di Chirurgia Ambulatoriale e Day Surgery.
Since 2004 a scientific event calendar has been launched at
Montallegro, with a series of topic meetings - the radiological
"aperitifs”, PiùKinesi, PiùDonna, ‘52 – which have been
extremely successful: they were held in the evening, during the
week, they were short but mainly adressed to professionals
normally working at Casa di Cura, dealing with interdisciplinary
common interest subjects, supporting scientific
activity and competence enhancement of any professionals and
comply with any training requirement in compliance with Ecm
(educazione continua in medicina – CPD continuing
professional development ), envisaged by the Healthcare
Ministry. Perfectly matching scientific and PiùDonna activity,
the centre dedicated to health and prevention operating for a
few years by Villa Montallegro, will organise throughout 2008
a series of meetings on feminine subjects.
Among the selected topics, some of them are addressed to
operators but to women as well, such as “Donne e salute”,
directly addressed to women.
PiùDonna furthermore organised a couple of cinema festivals,
dedicated to women’s beauty in the 50s and 60s and the 50 year
celebration event “cinquantacinqueannidiattività”, attended by
many professionals, customers and friends of the Casa di Cura.
It was the occasion to generally present the facility daily
activity from a medical, service, scientific and entrepreneurial
view point.
Similar attention is paid to the healthcare staff training
requirements: in 1994 the first updating course for professional
nurses was organised and since then Casa di Cura has been
deeply committed to organising periodical training and
education activities for its staff.
The quality certification awarded spurred the company to plan
training courses for its healthcare professionals as well as for
front-office staff, the real protagonists of the constant quality
system improvement.
